The Issue
Understanding the appeal and use of new re-seal pack mechanisms and identifying the best prototype, through quantitative testing with consumers, using the current pack as a benchmark.
What we did
Consumers of the product category attended a Central Location Test (CLT).
Respondents assessed the two packs; current and new following a balanced sequential monadic design.
Both packs were assessed on appearance and pack quality before opening for the first time. Then ease of opening, as well as ease of re-opening and re-sealing after multiple uses. Preference was then established between the two packs.
Outcome
The new cost-reduced re-sealable pack was a suitable replacement for the more expensive current option.
